About this course

  • Aimed at conservators interested in gilding as a restoration technique
  • Polishing and surface preparation techniques
  • We will be considering various methods of applying gold to objects with water and oil size gilding
  • Achieving surface finishes – destressing, toning gold colours and other metals
  • Attendees will benefit from being part of a small focused group with a student to tutor ratio of 1:3 working in a bespoke studio
  • Participants are tutored by Icon Accredited Conservators, in a well established commercial studio, working to achieve the highest standards
